Down Payment Assistance for First-Time Homebuyers

NeighborWorks Umpqua is offering Down Payment Assistance (DPA) programs throughout 2024.

Eligible first-time homebuyers in Douglas, Coos, Curry, and Josephine Counties can get help with their home purchase down payment. First generation home buyers may be eligible for additional funding.

You’ll also get home buyer education and one-on-one financial counseling to help you get ready for owning your first home.

Am I Eligible? 


  • You must be an Oregon resident (have lived in Oregon for 12 months or more). 


  • You’ve never owned a home, or you haven't owned a home in the past three years.


  • You are looking to purchase a home in Douglas, Coos, Curry, or Josephine County.


  • The home you buy must be your primary residence.


  • Your total household income must meet program limits.

Other Program Requirements:


  • You must complete a Homebuyer Education class and receive two financial counseling sessions before the date you close on your home.


  • The home you purchase must be a Single Family-Home, Condominium, or Manufactured Home on Fee Simple/Community Land Trust. Manufactured Homes must comply with conventional first mortgage lending standards
